His Mansion Community

I have so many wonderful memories from my two and a half years at His Mansion, but one night stands out for me. It was the annual Harvest Party (an alternative to Halloween) on the hill and it seemed like almost everyone dressed up in a costume of some fashion.

Now I must admit, this was probably the best costume I have ever come up with, and I have never come close to such costume excellence again. I showed up as Highway 149 by putting some kind of black paint on my face, wearing all black, and sticking things like yellow paper dividers, leaves and matchbox cars on me. As if that wasn't enough, I ripped up a stuffed animal, put red ink all over it and strapped it me to resemble roadkill. Ha ha ha ha! It was hilarious! :)

Now this was the kicker: On top of winning first prize for best costume, two other His Mansionites came to the party dressed as ... me! Oh dear! Adam Brouillard (left) wore my Wagner College sweatshirt and red wool hat that I wore quite frequently, and somehow had some extra hair in the back. Sawna St. George got a hold of my purple windbreaker (that I also wore frequently), puffed up her hair, drew in some awful lambchop sideburns (that I wore over the summer) and wore my American Liberty tie. Awwwwwww! :)

All I can say is, it was a wonderful and meaningful night. That night, I felt so loved. What a feeling!
